This is the house where Grandma lived, where

... Mom and Pop eloped from

.... Uncle Joe got his thumb cut off

.... Noah for his arm broke

Many people lived in this house at canning factory time. They came in from Kentucky  to work  during canning season.

This is the fron yard where Gladys  died after my mother and  Ma'am (Grandma)  walking the yard with her on a hot July night and she died  but grandma  didn't  tell anyone. She just said  Mary will you take the baby for a while and the she took off across the field to the neighbors house to use the phone.

This is   the  house  where the next  morning  I looked  under  every  bed  and in every  closet trying to find Gladys  and finally  Pop said   come here Rose I want to tell you something and then I knew before  he told  me.

This is the house where I milked the cow  for Ted and  Virgie  when they got up at 4  a.m. to go to  Wendel Wilkie's  speech in Elwood.

This is also where we had  square dances  and quilting bees.

So this is the house. Now it has a bath room upstairs and downstairs and a  lot of modern conveniences  that it did not have back then
