This is much like the house we lived in during the time of this story. This a picture of my Grandma White Wible in Dunkirk, IN. Our house looked just like this one, with the same layout and everything, except our house sat on some big boulders and it had a porch with steps going down.

My Good Neighbor or How we got started into Pentecostal

There are so many things I could write, But since it has been requested that I write about how we got into Pentecost I'll have to skip to that. But when I think of my life and how God worked with me and for It would take too much time to go thru the process. So here goes.

One day a new neighbor came to visit and she had a purpose in mind. She wanted to invite us to her Sunday School. She did not know this but this was the day I had been longing for ever since I found out there was such a thing as Sunday School.but that's a whole different story. She said her church was having a Sunday School contest and the one who brought the most people to Sunday school on a certain Sunday would win a prize. Of course we (all us children) wanted that prize. There was June,Me ,Noah and Raymond, then our nieghbors and cousins Dorothy. Lucille and Andrew plus our mothers would give someone a pretty good chance to win if we all agree to count for that one. Since June (Ike Jr.) was the oldest, the Lady (Sis Riley) said we should all count for Junior.

We agreed, we went with her and Junior won the prize. Oh my what a time we had. This was different from the church we went to when I first found out about Sunday School. I could not wait to get back to the next service. Anticipation BIG TIME.

They started a revival that lasted three weeks. And "Oh What Singing, Oh What Shouting , In that blessed Morning when we all shall rise. Oh What glory Halleluyah When we meet our Blessed Savior in the skies. After the preacher's youngest daughter got acquainted with us she begged to visit with us for a few days , although I couldn't figure why. But she did love to play with us in the Blue River. I think Blue River was about the most thrilling thing we had as far as I could see.

Many People came into the church during that revival, including my mother and Aunt Virgie I went to the Altar and the Ladies around me said I got the Holy Ghost, but I did not a that time , because I know that in order to get the Holy Ghost you have to speak in tongues and I didnot do that. I got real happy and I jabbered a lot but in order to get the HG you to open your mouth and speak and I would not do that. I was bashful, and I thought kids were suppose to be quiet. Also going thru my mind was set down and shut up. I would get so happy and I would start laughing ...but I would hide my face down behind the seats, all the time thinking "kids are suppose to be quiet."

Then later at home I would get so happy that I would run up and down the Hill on the road in front of our house, but I would never say anything. I was just too shy. (actually the hill was a little to the south of our house.) I know now that had I let God speak thru me I would have gotten the Holy Ghost right then and there and I would gotten more power to live for God and I wouldn't have to struggle so much. Isn't it something how we live and Learn.
